This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt orange color with a slight transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace to hit a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head. Dissipated at a nice pace. Moderate lace.
The aroma starts and finishes with sweet apricot. Not much else there, slight grassy hops, somewhat.
The flavor is all about the apricot. Grassy hops try to blend on into the aftertaste and on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a great sessionability about it. Low carbonation.
Overall, fantastic sessionable apricot ale. Maybe not so much more going on, but I won’t knock it for lack of other hopeful necessities. It’s good for what it is, so lap it up on a hot day.

Lightly hazy golden ale with a thick compact bubbled white head. Perfumy apricot aroma, lightly soapish. Fresh grassy malt taste with some of the apricot coming clearly in the finale with the hops, a bit of an oily mouthfeel. Light bodied. Quaffable summer beer.

Based on experience with their other beers, I wasn't expecting much from this at all, so I suppose my low standards for this brewery helped me to enjoy this ale a little more - cloudy golden with a huge head (I had to suck the rising foam from the top of the glass several times) - aroma is dominated my, you guessed it, apricots - flavor is quite similar to Magic Hat #9, but lacking much character (not that #9 is great or anything) - only a touch of apricot is evident, and the rest of the flavor is somewhat ho-hum - there is a surprising creaminess, especially in the finish, that makes the beer a bit more enjoyable - decent ale.

Great apricot colour of dark orange with a slight red colour. Nice smell with some apricot and peach scents. Weird flavour at first, the carbonation hits too hard, and all flavours are almost impossible to detect. The aftertaste is not reminiscent of beer at all, no malt or hops. Some apricot and fruit flavours emerge when you continue to drink, but there is not enough flavour coming through to make it a good beer. A better Apricot Ale (even in New York) is by Ithaca.

i dont know what it is about Middle ages apricot and ithaca's apricot, but i love em. this is a good beer too, not as good as ithacas apricot wheat, but crisp, very crisp. dont expect too much body, but the apricot taste is fresh and if served cold this just might be your beer on a hot summer day.
