After brewing B.O.R.I.S. The Crusher successfully for many years, our creative minds wander. We imagine a B.O.R.I.S. brewed with even better dark grain - the finest imported dark grain - for a smoother and mellower deep-roasted flavor. When we finally made our dreams become reality, it was a symphony of beautiful flavors, a higher level of B.O.R.I.S. born from our creativity, that deserves the name B.O.R.I.S. Reserve!

66cl Bottle kindly shared by AndySnow at Alus Celle. Black colour, thin beige-brown head. Aroma is very sweet, roasted malts, booze, liquorice, soy, molasses. Flavour is very sweet as well, boozy, liquorice, soy sauce, molasses, some roasted malts, light coffee, light fruity, bittersweet sugary finish. Medium to full bodied. Too sweet imho.

pours pitch black with a dark brown head that does not last long. roasted malts, dark fruits and a faint tart note. almost as if it was slightly sour. that’d be a dissapointment. Flavor is roasted malts, quite sweet, licorice, intense roasted bitterness, hidden in velvety vanilla and chocolate and tons of hard roasted malts.A little bit disappointed but my hopes were super high, as many of the frogs are super awesome.

Killer imperial stout, massive and roasty yet also refined and oh-so-easy-to-drink. Deep veins of chocolate and coffee, even deeper veins of roasted malt and anise, all mixed in with the usual suspects: dark cherry, molasses, dried fig and apricot, espresso, with a creamy, bitter back end begging to be consumed. Whisky and mocha and smoke on the nose (even if this isn’t the BA version), and the pour is an endless black that oozes out of the bottle, giving up a surprisingly boisterous dark brown head with moderate lacing. As smooth and silky as an imperial stout can be, without a hint of the ABV; probably would rank it a top 5 in palate if I could think straight at this point. Amazing beer. Just lovely.
