Soft and delicate, white drinkable, sourdough, wheat, soft white pepper, light yeast. Active, massaging carb. Tasty stuff.

Tap at the brewery. It pours rich golden-amber with a small, but sturdy white head. The nose is sweet, sticky, sticky, lemon drizzle cake, peppercorn, white bread and light floral notes. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, a bit sticky, cereal, honeyed grain, sticky, peppercorn, straw, alcohol boost and pepper with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. A bit sweet and sticky for me. Not a huge fan.

Draft at Night Shift. Full pour, Dark murky gold color, some lasting head. Nose is phenol Belgian yeast with a good amount of wheat. Sweet bread and light fruit.

Malts and yeast are the main players here. Light wheat with a bit of spicy peppery character. Body is lighter with a spritzy carbonation. The citrus peel is here but really overpowered by peppercorn. Honestly, I like it enough to get a full glass so I liked it just fine.

Another very light colored saison, though with a bit more darker golden hues than Fantine. Head is large and white, well-retained. Clarity is high.
Plaster, vanilla, light pepper and soft, hay-like hoppiness combine in the nose to produce a very gentle aroma that is nonetheless quite sniffable. It’s not farmhousey at all and the "saison" qualities are solely derived from the fruitiness and phenols of the yeast. It’s quite clean, moreso than anything you’d get in Belgium, but still enjoyable nonetheless. No alcohol noted, nicely reserved on the adjunct presence.
Flavor is a bit of a mix bagged. In no way is it flawed or unenjoyable. Where Fantine wowed due to elegance and execution, this one seems to lean a bit too much on the peppercorn and citrus presence to drum up interest. Not that there’s anything wrong with a clean, drinkable Belgian ale; I just think brewers are taking a bit of liberties with all of the saison labeling. That being said, the body is well-attenuated, with a chewy maltiness that is whisked away on the finish by citrus and phenol dryness. Ample carbonation, no alcohol, no flaws. Perhaps just a touch too peppery/citrusy.
