Vintage bottle, picked up for the bargain price of Β£5.48(!). It pours lightly hazy amber with a orangey hue and thick, fluffy off-white head. Head lasts from start to finish. The aroma is funky, musty, barnyard, brett, gooseberry, white grape, sherbet, damp oak, hay, bitter orange peel, spice, farmhouse bread and sourdough. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, earthy, wood, spicy, hay, slightly metallic, deep funk, barnyard, dirty brett, orange peel, tangerine, splash of Irn Bru, damp grass, herbal, farmhouse bread and straw with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate+ foamy lively carbonation. Has aged well. Brett has properly taken hold. Good American Orval-style beverage. Quaffs good.

Bottle. Master of Malt. Pops like a fucker. Super hazy, dark gold. Dense and creamy, off white head. Brett bomb this. Lemon peel. Lemon verbena. Orange peel. New leather. Vanilla. Taste is sweet with a fairly rich fruitiness. Gets a little tart and dry. Touch of citrus bitterness. Decent body with brisk, foamy carbonation. Big hit of bretty lemon and leathery bitterness to finish.

Exploded cork immediately after the cage was taken off (luckily it wasn't pointed in the wrong direction) - insane pressure built up!!! Very slightly hazy golden coloured body with a super thick, five to seven centimetre tall off-white head that is relatively soapy, but fades somewhat quickly. Aroma of floral hops with some very bretty and funky yeast notes that show some tart smells, but the oak and dry barrel qualities are quite evident. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive dry and floral hops dominate with a nice and light-ish malt body with some herbs, grass and flowers throughout that shows some fruit notes toward the end as well. Aftertaste has a soft wheat and malt component, but the yeast, brett and funky hop characteristics show through towards the end. Overall, a very nice and incredibly complex barrel-aged and bretty flavoured Belgian that fells every bit Wallonian and not Californian, but luckily for us Americans, it's the opposite! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Fairfax, Virginia on 10-September-2017 for US$10,99 sampled just over two years later on 20-October-2019 at home in Washington. Given that my cork exploded immediately, kept at ideal conditions, you may want to drink this soon if you have a bottle on hand.

Refrigerated 75 cL brown bottle cocked and capped. Gusher, this bottle exploded, beer twenty feet, beer on my face, counter, and floor. Hazy amber with Hugh beige head. Aroma is yeasty, medium body, well carbonated, and some lacing. Taste is dry, yeasty, and a little spice.

Itβs a gusher - have 2 glasses and a stopper ready. Pours gold and meringue into a tulip. Band aid aromas. Sharp with lemon and band aid funk upfront turning to earthy pith in the lasting finish.

Sample at GABF 10/07/2017, thanks to my bro for assistance with note-taking. Clear orange-gold color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of funky yeast, fruit, spice and malt. Medium body with flavors of brett yeast, spiced fruit, malt and mild hops. The finish is mildly funky and dry with a yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

750 c&c from Bine & Vine. Pours (with a very loud cork pop) brassy gold with a humongous foamy/frothy near white head. Aroma is funky, woody and possibly lightly bready. Med + body. Not very carbonated in first pour - all that foam took it. Yet the flavor is Bretty/funky in a marvelous way, and it is easy to see why some compare it to Orval. Quite similar to my memory. Finishes reasonably dry, funky, Bretty. Quite tasty stuff.

750 ml bottle, the cork rockets out just before you finish removing the cage. Lost some in the sink but not too much. Constant oozing. .
Hazy orange gold, Brett/horse blanket dominates the smell. White pepper adds some to the equation. Tremendous Brett taste, like few if any others that I have tried. , bitter Brett not sour Brett. Continuous oozing from the bottle. Taste wise, think of Oval on steroids. Medium bodied with the carbonation not quite as brisk as all that oozing and the cork experience would suggest but it IS zesty. I think it was under $9 and I think I will chance it again. Streuth, what a corker!
