28/8/2021. Cask at the 2021 East Anglian Beer Festival, Bury St Edmunds. Pours clear dark ruby brown with a small bubbly/frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, berry, liquorice, molasses. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very nice, for me one of the beers of the festival.

Third by cask, shared with Finn on the third day of GBBF Winter 20, Iron Bridge Bar. Ruby-black body, remaining beige head, fair lacing. Roasted mid-sweet chocolate malts on the nose. Boiled malty flavours, hints of liquorice and chocolate. Herbal dry ending. Fine depth and smooth on the swallow. Likable. (Birmingham 06.02.2020).

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Clear deep amber - brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, modest fine carbonation. Sweetish malts. Tangy toffee, not sweet. Ripe rich fruits well integrated. Mild spice. Touch of esters. Dry finish. Quite tasty. Winter warmer and it's 32 degrees outside.

Cask at GBBF. It pours deep brown with a small bubbly beige head. The aroma is rich, earthy, vinous, wood, leather, oily, cacao, fruit cake, sappy and varnish. The taste is drying, bitter, oily, slick, treacle, fruit cake, umami, burnt toast, peppery spice, liquorice, chewy, toothy and tannin with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Oily and rich. Rather enjoyable.
