Pale Ale brewed in collaboration with Toast Ale at Windsor, using 100kg of unused bread from Celtic Bakers who are a supplier to Waitrose and rejected fruit donated by Rejuce. Representatives from all these companies joined up at the brewery to break the bread up and to mash in, and then chopped up the fruit and added to the copper during the boil.

Bottle from the Frimley Waitrose. Spicey fruity marmalade aroma. Orange gold. Frothy translucent white head. Light citrus sourness and some bitterness. Gains more bitterness although the ending then has pithy orange juice to it. Light bodied. Thin bit slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long finish. Enjoyable if basic.

Bottle from Waitrose. Deep amber in colour, with a slight haze and frothy, off-white, head and much fizziness. Orange notes, sweetish malts, leafy hops and a moderately bitter ifnish. Fine.

Bottle at Jason & Tracey’s, 12/10/19. Hazed golden amber with a decent egg shell white head that retains well. Nose is orange peel, toasted malts, light breads, grains. Taste comprises grass, orange zest, lemon drizzle, toasted grains, airy malts, light bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with lightly astringent grassy hop bitterness. Passable novelty pale.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Waitrose. Pours mostly clear copper-gold with a foamy, off-white head. It's an all-around pretty decent beer, has some lightly toasted grains, modest leafy bitterness, perhaps a touch of orange peel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Reasonably clean in the finish, with further grainy malts, leaves, earth. Acceptable.

[Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence.] A bright golden amber pour with a thin cream head; orange zest aroma; oily in the mouth with caramel and gentle orange flavours then a smooth bittersweet finish. Rather good.
