3/8/2022. Cask at GBBF 2022, day 2. Pours clear dark mahogany brown with a small frothy beige head. Aroma is ashy, roasted malt, dark chocolate, liquorice, coffee, caramel, slight berry edge. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness, light berry tartness. Medium body, slightly creamy, soft carbonation. Very good especially for its modest abv.

Cask at the brewpub. Smoky instant coffee, cheap chocolate and malts. Dark with a cola tint. Creamy if blotchy beige head. Initial coffee berry sourness with underlying creamy sweetness. Bitterness come through into the finish. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long astringent finish. Does what's expected.

Cask at Reading Beer Festival. Black. Coffee and blackcurrant. Good full mouthfeel. Tasty & satisfying. Nice beer to finish on just before we abandoned this icy-cold festival for the comfort of a nearby pub to avoid the very real risk of hypothermia.
