Cask at the brewpub. Caramel and malt aroma. Dark amber. Frothy but sparse off-white head. Light bitter with a sour berry edge. Some spice. Light-medium bodied. Slick, dense mouthfeel. Average-soft carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable bitter.

On cask at the Albert Inn, Totnes, Devon. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - biscuit malt, floral. Taste - more biscuits. A bit of red fruit creeping in. Initially thought redcurrants, now looking like cherry stone. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - an old style English Bitter. This totally grew on me.

Burnley Beer Festival. Golden with a small head and lots of biscuit malts in its character. There’s also a fair smack of cherry in its aroma and flavour.

On gravity at the Portcullis, Bristol 10/12/09. A solid session amber session beer with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of biscuity malts, red fruit and a hint of earthy hop. Flavour started with some sweet malts, more fruit and a decent, bitter finish. Ok.
