Kyle Huling has travelled to Batemans Brewery (Lincolnshire) to brew this golden ale for us. Generously hopped, it delivers notes of lemongrass, green grape and grapefruit, resulting in a crisp, refreshing character.

Hops: Citra, Hallertau Blanc

Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham. Cloudy gold, small white head with good retention. Flavour of grapefruit, passionfruit, straw, lemongrass. A semi-dry chewy mouthfeel. More flavour profile than your average pale ale cask offering but it is a bit unfocused/wishy-washy as other reviewers have mentioned. Interesting beer though.

Cask @ Arnold Machin, Newcastle-under-Lyme. Soft textured for its strength with soft fruits too. Perhaps its grape is most prominent here, lemongrass second although better in aroma.

Cask pint in my local Wetherspoons on 14th October 2024. Clean and clear body, golden in colour, lasting white crown. Leaning towards tropical and citrus fruits in aroma and taste, some earthy notes and esters too. Didn't get the grassy bits others have mentioned and I quite liked it!

Cask handpull at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Clear gold colour lasting thin tljead. Funnily enough tastes like one of my pale ale homebrews light citrus fruit aroma. Some dryness on the finish. Some flavour not quite perfect in there. OK condition. A bit grassy.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A bright straw coloured pour with a ring of white head; lemongrass aroma; dry in the mouth with a herbal bitterness and grainy body; then a wishy-washy finish.
