both of which provide a subtle spiciness to compliment fruity plum flavors and a lingering fresh tartness.
Hops are at a minimum, and the fresh plum juice lends brightness of flavor plus a really cool color to the beer as showcased in its tulip-style glass.
A perfect little refresher to be enjoyed on the patio (or inside with the AC) as the weather finally gives us a taste of summer.

Draught at the brewery, Spring/Summer, maybe 2012? 2011? Not sure.
Bright, maroon-burgundy body shows good clarity and a a small, violet-flecked beige head of moderate to low retention.
Good tart/spicy qualities are joined by light citrus-like acidity and touches of vanilla-honey from the base malts. Fruitiness is "dry" and not overdone. Good skin-like tannins and a white pepper-like character from the yeast/coriander interaction. No alcohol or flaw.
Tart, and with fine carbonation, high attenuation and a softly malted texture that balances the dryness and moderate plum-like acidity. Gets juicy, but not out-of-control so, with light earthy notes from the yeast and soft pepper on the finish. Crisp and drinkable and well-balanced.

Draft at the brew pub. 16 oz. tulip glass. Color is a purple hazy with an amber type hue. Take a guess at the nose? Yeah, fruity plum. Hints of yeast. Taste is very much how it tastes. Mouthfeel and body is light. The brewer says in his description that it has a effervescent feel, he was right! Very lively and fresh. Nice beer.

A hazed amber ale with a thin off white head. In arom a, sweet chalky plum malt with light tartness. In mouth, a light gueuze like ale woth light fruits, plums, Brett notes, not bad. On tap at Somerville Summerfest, July 14, 2012.
