On tap at the brewery Maldon Boston .Clear bronze colour lasting white head. Bready aroma pretty good stab at a malty German land bier. Too fizzy for a zwickel though. Needs to be softer carbonated. Fine.

4 oz. sample at the brewery. Aroma of bread dough, honey malt, and mild yeast. Subtle herbalness. Flavor shows me mild dough and honey backbone. No bitterness and has a light body. Very subtle and light. I prefer the style to be slightly more robust with yeast and malts. (Say Cambridge House Lager for example) But overall, nothing wrong here. The brewery labels it a Zwickel yet the description says Vienna lager. ummmmm...

Tap at Ginger Man, Boston. Colour is clear golden with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Sweetness, grain and malts. Some fruits but too sweet for me.

Pours a clear dark amber from a tap, head quickly dissipates. Straw aroma, malty, a little corn, similar flavor. Interesting, pretty good beer.

Draught at the brewery, 7/9/16.
Lovely, glassy-copper-amber with just a hint of cherry. Beige head atop is full and lasting.
Moderate fruitiness and plentiful herbs emanate from the hops, as just a touch of melanoidin adds ripe berry to the mix. Very low on the bread and crystal malt apparency with moderate grain, soft buttercream-like base malt/vienna malt interaction and clean yeast minerality. No alcohol or flaw.
Moderate bitterness with a texture ranging from softly malted to lightly grainy/hard and the juxtaposition is enjoyable. Brown bread, cream, pepper and floral hops all balance nicely, leaving the beer right in the center as far as sweet/dry and bitter/malty are concerned. Very brisk carbonation and lots of dextrine means you’re not chugging this thing down, but the tradeoff is fine with me as it comes closer to a meal in a glass, as many German beers often do. I could go out, drink two of these in a night and go home satisfied.
