Draught at 4th Anniversary, 3/19/17.
Dark ebony with a tan head, small and showing moderate retention. Light clarity on the edges.
Malty and soft in the nose with no big oak or harsh barrel notes. Pretty light on the whiskey in general, with just a bit of floral spiciness and otherwise plenty of caramel, light chocolate and easygoing char mixed with lighter roast notes. No booze or underfermented fudge. Lingering vanilla.
Soft and malty in the mouth with low but engaging carbonation and a great balance between the roast acidity and malt sugars. Nicely dry but still comforting with chocolate, light prune/raisin and lingering caramel and vanilla. Touch of spicy whiskey with soft barrel tannin further keeping things even/mild. No booze or astringency and just a very flavorful, mellow, well-aged porter. Probably my favorite at their anniversary.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. Then nose is earthy, toast, cocoa, choc, toast and charred notes. The taste is charred wood, toast, earth, treacle, caramel, toast, plum and roasted malt with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty drinkable stuff.

Bottle shared in London - thanks for the trade! Pours clear, dark brown with a frothy, beige head. The nose holds some burnt wood, baking cocoa, touches of toffee and burnt marshmallow. Medium sweet flavor with scorched honey, toasted toffee, dark fruits, soft cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mellow warmth to conclude, more burnt sugars, dark bread, toffee. Quite tasty, pretty well balanced, very drinkable.
