Summer IPA is all about the hops. A satisfying, refreshing IPA with a clean hoppy finish perfect for the summer months. The aroma is both complex and hoppy while perfectly balanced. Look for hints of citrus, and tropical fruits from the Zeus, Citra, Saphir, and Amarillo hops. The only thing more balanced than the aroma is the flavor, offering subtle malt sweetness on either side of the hops profile, and closes with a crisp, hoppy finish.

Can to becher glass. Purchased 09/03/2017, Consumed on 09/05/2017 with a best by date of 11/05/2017.
Appearance: semi-hazy burnt yellow almost golden color with a two and a half fingers of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: light pineapples to mixed citrusy hop tones then a light grapefruity hop note; light malty notes
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fair bitter to bittersweet quality; finishes somewhat citrusy with some grapefruity hint
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; light smoothness and a little bit of hop bitterness assertiveness
Overall: might be able to come back to this, it's pleasant enough.

Draught at Republic Cafe, 6/23/18.
Gently hazy, soft, lemony-apricot golden. Small, fairly dense, white head sits at cover.
Lightly fruity and with honey-like malts, it's gentle, shows no aggressive character has has a pleasant pineapple-citrus feel to it.
Soft and fairly malty with a light pine and grapefruit-light bitterness and tons of yellow fruits. Honey-rich malts are maybe a touch too blase/sweet but it's not much of a problem. Engaging carbonation and no alcohol, resin or flaw. Very simple, but good, competent and drinkable.

On tap at Smuttynose, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral hops, light dankness and an astringent hoppy bitterness. Flavour is along the same lines, with fresh floral hops and a crisp biscuity malt base. Fresh and floral, but not a whole lot of depth. Okay.

Taster pour at the source. Appearance is yellow with greenish tinge (urine-like) with light sparkle, finger-width white, foamy head with fair retention and fair leggy lacing. Aroma is mild citrus, biscuit, cardboard. Taste is light citrus, stronger biscuit malts. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, elements are there but it's just not as strong or complex as the description. OK.

3 month old can > tulip. A: Gently poured to 1/4" of white bubbly foam. Cloudy pale gold. S: Soft scent of sweet orange/tangerine and light caramel. T: Tart, fruity and pithy flavors with dry bready malt notes. Medium bitterness but the beer is pretty old. M: Strong carbonation adds to a light crisp mouthfeel and dry finish. O: Good balance of malt and hops, bread and citrus. Light and easy drinking. Wish I had found it a few weeks ago.

Super hazy golden coloured body with a bit of a straw and raw honey coloured glow with a great, four centimetre tall pure white head - very nice looking unfiltered IPA. Aroma of light yeast, some crisp hops, mellow malts, a touch of wheat and a small dose of citrus. Light to Medium-bodied; Grassy and slightly floral hop notes up front with a hint of the amarillo nutty and earthiness as well, along with some subtle malts, a bit of citrus and a pleasant light sweetness near the end. Aftertaste is dry, crisp and slightly hoppy with a good blast of fresh malts and wheat along with a small sweetness to balance out the fresh hop flavours. Overall, this one strikes a good balance amongst the flavours and also shows nicely for the season in which it was designed, given that it says Summer right on the front of the can. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 04-July-2017 for US$2,49 sampled at home in Washington on 17-August-2017.

12 oz. can. Aroma is mild grass clippings mixed with citrus. Zeus and Saphir are not hop varieties I know much about but... The flavor is citrus upfront with a mildly grassy finish. Body is on the lighter end of the spectrum. The texture is slick with bitter on the lower side.
Overall, another very serviceable IPA from the folks at Smutty. This would be the proverbial Lawnmower IPA.

Can from Whole Foods, Slightly hazy deep yellow with a decent sized bubbly white head that slowly recedes. Earthy pine and quite a bit of fruity citrusy hops with some faint bready malt underneath. Pretty tasty beer.
