Bottle. Pours clear dark coffee brown with no head and seems totally flat. Aroma is roasted malt, brown sugar, prunes, cocoa and liquorice. Taste is medium to very sweet, light to medium bitter and faint salty. Body is oily with faint to almost no carbonation. Finish is long and rich with balanced sweet and bitter notes of gravy, malt, brown sugar, grapes, prunes, raisins, soy sauce, mint, liquorice, cocoa and dark chocolate. Very rich and intense yet in excellent balance but could have had a bit more carbonation.

Bottle. Color: Black, dense light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, cocoa, licorice. Taste: Roasted malt, molasses, notes of cocoa and notes of licorice (lakrids), warming mouthfeel and subtle notes of chilipepper towards and at the finish. Smooth, greasy and pretty dense mouthfeel, caused by the use of oat flakes. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Pretty grainy, moderate sweet and moderate bitterness. Bit sticky. Alcohol is well hidden. Nice to notice how each of the ingrediënt mentioned on the label (cocoa beans, lakrids, chili, oat flakes and muscovado) is recognizable and has his own shining moment in each sip, in aforementioned order with the muscovado as steady factor. Although this is not one of the tastiest Imperial Stouts I've ever had, I like the taste and complexity, purity and structure of this beer.
