(This entry is for the version blended and bottled at Allagash which is a different blend than the Cantillon version.)

Wild Friendship Blend is a blend of spontaneously fermented beer produced in three different parts of the world - at Russian River Brewing Company in California, Allagash Brewing Company in Maine and Cantillon Brewery in Belgium. Our breweries have shared mutual respect and admiration for each other for many years.

Each component was brewed, fermented and aged in oak barrels at each of the three breweries. In all three cases, the beers were cooled in some form of a traditional coolship and no yeast or bacteria was added -- only natural, spontaneous inoculation.

The breweries agreed to use beer that had been fermented and aged for roughly 2 years, and each brewery selected a particular barrel to be a component of the blend.

The final piece of the blending process was done at Allagash with Vinnie & Rob last summer in our wild barrel room.

The breweries collaborated on a similar blend for a release at Cantillon Brewery in May 2014

Nice lambic yeast here. Super grapefruit. Apricot and a little sour plum. Pours clear golden with ok head. Tart finish. Bottle pour at Churchkey 30th anniversary celebration.

375ml bottle at Allagash pours a very spritzt, burnt gold with a nice cap of white head. Really nice nose, wow, neutral barrel and wood. Big band aid, horsey, lemon rind, mild berry lurking. Flavor has grapefruit rind and wheat, dried herbs, woodsy, neutral wood. Dry and very high carb which might be my only complaint.

Killer! Blend of Cantillon 3-year lambic and coolship ales from Allagash and Russian River. So drinkable and full of flavor. Funky apple. 2020

375mL bottle, undated, at Novare, 6/16/22. Clear brass. Big, white head. Cantillon-forward, with oak and big barnyard. Sweet honey and soft Brett with white wine and light lacto. Dry and lacto-heavy. Spicy phenol and good yeast character. Reminds me most of beatification in flavor. Dry, spicy, lightly juicy. Citrus rind.

Bottle with thanks to Walt! Pours hazy golden orange, minimal head and lacing. Aroma is super Bretty, horse blanket, lemon, damp basement, hints of stone fruit, perhaps a touch acetic. Flavor is dry, fairly funky, hints of stone fruit. Light body, low carbonation.

Poured from a bottle at RR WFB event. Aroma is nice with a good musty, oak note but also some light tropical fruit and citrus. Good acidic character with some nice earthy funk. Some light peach and stone fruit notes as well. Pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head that recedes to the edges and disappears. No lacing and small legs. Flavor has a moderate acidity; a bit of the Cantillon sharpness but it is balanced by the softer acidity of the other beers. Nice mineral note and herbal funk with some light earthiness. Medium light tropical fruit notes and citrus. Very nice and while the Cantillon dominates, the Resurgam and Beatification does show through and soften out the Cantillon and add some fruitiness. Mouthfeel is medium low bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a very nice beer with a lot of character from each of the base beers. Its interesting how the microflora notes from the US beers blend and show through the microflora of the Cantillon. This version was very similar to the one blended at Cantillon but was a bit more oaky.
