330ml bottle @ Coracle, Ironbridge. Pours dark, thin cream-coloured topping. Aroma is a little odd, grainy, biscuity ovaltine. Taste runs with the ovaltine notes, soft chocolate, papery cardboard. Not awful, but well.. it is a low-alcohol stout.

27th Dec 2018. Large portion of the wife's 330ml bottle (she was driving) in The Coracle, Ironbridge, Shropshire. Black bodied, the fast fading head was beige and thin from the start. Malty little number, Ovaltine came to mind in the aroma, chocolate notes within the taste.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the Drinkers' Paradise. Pours deep brown with a foamy, light khaki head. The aroma holds blackberries, raisins, burnt toast, burnt fruitcake, soft roast. Light-medium sweet flavour with more dried, old berries, more blackberry, burnt crackers, bitter ash, baking cocoa, raisins. Light in body with average carbonation. Fairly dry in the finish, with more raisins, burnt toast, dry cocoa and bitter ash. A little weird, but in its way interesting in a good way.

Bottle at Seven Seasons, Hoxton, London. Poured almost black with a decent sized off-white to beige head. Looks the part. Aroma of malt, liquorice, light chocolate, bread, toasting and yeast extract. Medium sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Light body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Kind of ok, bit better than average for a low alcohol beer, but wouldn't make me give up the alcohol.

Bottle at home. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The aroma is very malty, malt loaf, malt extract, supermalt, cocoa and earthy roast. The taste is earthy roast, quite watery, wood bark, liquorice, umami, malt extract, coffee grounds, cardboard and charred wood with an earthy and spicy finish. Light body and moderate, fizzy carbonation. Tastes like a malt beverage like supermalt or something. The lack of alcohol is glaringly obvious.

Really lightly roasted but a bit confused on the spices. Remove the spices and it wld be better.
