QDH QIPA – Dry hopped with Citra, Mosaic & Nelson.

We decided to brew our first ever QIPA to celebrate our good friend Felipe (Hopcave) reaching his 10,000th new beer (his 600th from FW) on Untappd. A feat of this magnitude deserved a beer to match and what a beer this is! Clocking in at a nerve shaking 12% this one isn’t for the faint hearted. It’s literally bursting with the tongue tinging tastes of the tropics; pineapple, passionfruit, mango and sharp citrus, backed up with a bold, brash booziness. So grab a can and raise a glass in salutation of Felipe and his momentous thirst for new beer. PROST

Rather orange with a frothy head of modest duration. Pleasant aroma, quite tropical, full of passion-fruit, pineapple and guave with candy undertones. Taste is bitter and citric the whole way through, a bit harsh though at the finish with the booze poking through. Medium bodied, moderate to mild carbonation. Not bad, but not great.

Can from Day 21, Saturday 21st December 2024 listening to Beth Gibbons - Lives Outgrown and cooking a very busy Chilli con Carne from a Delicious Magazine 2-3 years ago? Pours murky yellow with a large white head, as Loz suggests it's a bit strong and erring on the harsh side, but otherwise smooth,a creamy mouthfeel and with tropical fruit aplenty, good but not the beer to end all beers.

Tap at Ambasada. Murky orange body, off-white head. Sweet peachy aroma, resinous, light onion. Dry bitter herbal taste, bit yeasty, funky, some stone fruit sweetish touches, but this, while not being the beer to end all beer, is decent.
