Exploring the Peak District will often require a number of Double Backs before you find your path. This session IPA will take you on a similar journey between a delicate peachy aroma, sweet tropical palate and moreish bitter finish from an adventurous combination of New Zealand hops.

Can from the Cheese and Wine Emporium, Bakewell. Murky gold with a large, lasting white head and a pleasant soft foamy fizz. Lemon and lime, melon, quite a lot of floral notes and some sticky pineapple at the end. Seemed a little light and watery at first but was pleasantly juicy by the end. It's a tasty, easy-drinking brew; decent stuff as always from Buxton.

Can at home. Pours a nice yellow with a small head. Aroma is surprisingly yeasty, lots of creamy peach and zesty citrus. Light to medium body. Flavour starts very floral and herbal, increasingly you get lots of peach, some sweet orange, but of grape and grapefruit. Creamy and full of flavour for the abv. Bit of bitterness, especially in the finish. Extremely tasty session and supremely drinkable.

Tight white head left a creamy top on a vivid golden coloured body.
Malt & bitter aroma.
Medium bodied, foamy & cloying.
Peach, fruit pastilles, grapefruit & peppery tastes with a pale malt backbone.
Quaffer.

Can. Buxton online shop. Hazed pale gold. Good sticky white foam. Nice looker (see pic). Nicely bright vibrant NZ hoppage. Lightly creamy malts without going down the milky route. Decent bitterness as per Buxton pow wows. Nice one. Smashed it before I really thought too much about it tbh.

44cl can from AbeerVinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy, pale yellow, with no foam. Aroma is herbal, tropical. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is medium bitter, with some underlying sweetness as well. Final is weirdly sweetish.

Cask at the Head of Steam, Birmingham. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a thin white head. The aroma is malt, tropical citrus, light toffee. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a smooth, fresh, malty, light herbal, earthy, light citrus fruit, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Gravity pour at the 1st Annual Beer Festival of the Pheasant Inn and Brewhouse, 20th July 2024. Half a pint, it looked bloody awful but tasted fine. Murky dish water appearance, no head just a grey wisp. Luckily it had an interesting tropical fruit flavour and I enjoyed it.
