Gower Gold is a thirst quenching golden ale. It has refreshing citrus flavours and the lovely aroma of the cascade hops. Brewed since December 2011, this beer has become an all round firm favourite.

I don't know why it's lost my rating for this one. I'll add another full review if / when I have it again

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt 2013 range. Gold clear with lasting white head. It’s a golden ale. Hops are what? There, yes, soft, some citrus, touch of grapefruit and lime. You do have to dig a bit for them. The malts are pale but solid. Some dryness and bitterness on the finish. It’s subtle this beer. You really have to dig to get to the good bits. But as an overall beer, I really quite like it.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Golden. Thin, white head. Aroma is bready with light malt. There are hops in there, but the promised citrus flavour doesn’t really materialise. Slight metallic aftertaste. Not my cup of tea.

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt 2013 range. Bright amber with a ring of white head; floral aroma; jammy taste with some green hops and a touch of orange marmalade; then a malty finish. I don’t know where the Cascade hops went - but they didn’t make it into this bottle.

Cask-conditioned at the South Wales Beeriodical, the Seven Stars, Bristol 8/11/2012. Clear gold with a slight white head. Light citrus and hay aroma. Flavour had some cereal malts, a touch of Clementine and a gently bitter finish. Good.
