Dark brown to black colored, medium tan creamy head, decent lasting. Aroma is of some roasted malt, coffee and coffee beans, bit acidity. Taste is medium sweet malt, some caramel, roasted malt, coffee and coffee beans, some coffee acidity with medium bitterness, bit earthy, dryish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit creamy. (can)

Can picked up from the Tesco, Bicester, consumed at home Easter Saturday 15th April 2017 after a second hard day building a pond, now just finishing off cooking Lamb Shawarma. Pours black with a creamy colour and creamy soft texture head. Good coffee aromas, really good, creamy mouthfeel, soft a little cappuccino, there is a little vanilla back bite of roastiness. 13th April 2017: ’random tasting session’ at home with myself. 330ml can: BBD 17th Mar 2018, poured into a Forbidden Fruit chalice, the seventh beer of the session. Black with a tanned head that sadly fell away swiftly (might have been the oil on me nuts!): coffee esters ruled the nose and the flavours followed suit. Smooth body feel with a little semi-burnt coffee grain bitterness below the surface, hop presence difficult to find. Liked it.

Can from Tesco. Black body with a medium beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of coffee beans, cocoa powder and ash. Flavour of espresso and berries. Thin medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Raw but pretty good.

Can from the Cambridge Brewhouse. Very dark brown and only slightly translucent with some wispy brown head on top. Strong Robusta coffee mixes with tarragon to create an enticing and singular aroma. Sweet and spicy taste with the earthy sourness of the coffee lurking in the background. Salt liquorice and lamb gravy are explored in the aftertaste. Chewy mouthfeel. Good, good stuff.

Can at the East Town Bottle Shop & Tap Room, Ipswich. Pours dark chestnut brown with a hint of red and a lasting beige head. Light aroma of coffee, malt, and hop. Medium sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight sticky texture. Average carbonation. Finish is dry, with lasting sweet roast.

Can from UBrew. It pours black with a medium tan head. The aroma is rich roast, big coffee character, cocoa powder, chocolate truffle and earth. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malts, toasty, freshly ground coffee, cocoa, earth, rocky road and light spice. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Great coffee character throughout. A well crafted coffee stout.

33cl bottle. Pours hazy dark orange brown colour with a small good lasting off-white head. Aroma of sweet and dry dark roasted malt, coffee. Taste of sweet malt, many sweet coffee, red malt, molasses.
