Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth Pre-GBBF 2017 tasting - London. Cheers! Pours clear copper with a tight, creamy head. The nose holds musty carpets, leaves, leather. Medium sweet with light toasted bread, caramel, leaves. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, nips of brown sugar, toffee. Just OK.

Bottle split at Chris & Ruths pre GBBF Shin Dig, cheers for all the shares, 05/08/17. Rich amber topped with a decent light beige cap. Nose is dusty, sweet notes, toffee, biscuit, fruit peel. Taste comprises fruit loaf, sweet malts, caramel, dried fruits, orange peel, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bitterness in the close. Passable English Strong but lacks any depth or complexity for the ABV.

Bottle at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours clear copper with a medium white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, sugary, tangy, berry skin, stewed fruits, must, earth and marmalade. The taste is dry, firm bitterness, wood, leather, very earthy, toasty grain, cereal, nut and alcohol. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Some interesting aspects to it. Not bad.

The great pre GBBF bottleshare at ChrisO’s. Clear amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Tired malts, some oxidised caramel. Dried fruits. Light ripe fruity finish. Doing nothing for me, quite dull.
