Cask at the Lyric during the tap takeover - London. Pours lightly hazy amber-gold with a foamy, white head. The nose has a hit of raw hops, bready malts, grains. Light sweet flavor with notes of toasted grains, ripe orange, floral hop bitterness. Light in body with fine carbonation. Finishes with further flowery and raw hops, toasted grains, light resin, wood, orange peel. Not bad.

Three Johns. Cask. Hazy amber beer with a few lonely pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light and semi dry, low carbonation. Smooth dry malts, toffee and caramel. Modest ripe fruits. Little apple. Mild bitterness. A stodgy bitter, not short on taste but it feels like a throwback.

Cask at the lyric for the tap takeover. Nice bright reddy caramel coloured pour with a lasting frothy cream head. Aroma is nice floral, lavender, citrus hop. Pinch of caramel on the nose. Flavour is nicely balanced, light caramel and biscuuty grains with slight lemon, floral hop, and subdued English ale yeast character. Palate is semi sweet, good cask condition. Firm balanced bitterness. Very sessionable.

Cask at Lyric. It pours hazy amber with a medium bubbly white head. The nose is brown bread, grainy, toasty, earth, dirt and mild barnyard. The taste is bitter, woody, leather, spice, brown bread, light toast and orange rind with a dry, earth finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Punchy bitterness for the style. Not quite as sessionable as I had hoped, but solid stuff. I realize this last comment makes me sound like I am in camra. Truth is I have up my membership this year....
