Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 22/09/24. Hazed orange with a big old creamy white cap ... first nod to a west coast IPA is a fail! Nose is grass, orange peel, mineral notes, herb, pineapple. Taste comprises bitter orange, grass, grapefruit, pine needle, crisp malts, pineapple. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close spiked with juicy come grassy hop bitterness. Okay DIPA but below the usual standards of the Veil.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light smooth palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light smooth pale malts, a modest sweetness. Hmmm! No stodgy caramel malts here but, that said, pretty much everything I dislike about West Coast is here. Pithy bitter citric peel. A tangy grapefruit bitterness. Some brighter orange and grapefruit on the back end before a semi dry and slightly bitter and hop spicy finish. A bit too close to original West Coast style for my liking.

16oz can pours a murky orange with some white head that faded fast. Nose has citrus and some pine, a little soap. Smells just OK. Maybe some melon. Flavor is better with citrus and pine and soap. Light grist. Off dry, medium bodied, bitter finish.

Tap. Pours cloudy golden yellow, medium white head, great lacing. Aroma is light, notes of grapefruit, pine, green tea. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, no burn.
