A Macchiato Porter using Takk NorthProjekt v.7 coffee and a dash of lactose. The espresso profile beans lend a subtle hit of sweet caramel and honeydew on the nose whilst adding a rich depth to the complex cacao malt base. This is a farewell brew from a long serving brewer, Jonny Read, ahead of his move to Sweden.

330ml can. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head disappearing immediately. Lovely aroma of coffee beans. Taste is all the coffee too, roasty, dark malts, a little creamy sweetness and mostly bitter finish. Medium bodied, smooth, fine carbonation. Really nice.

LCBF 2018, cask. Pours black. Chocolate, coffee grounds, toast, strong coffee finish, blueberry, caramel. Smooth. Tasty finish.

330ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, light caramel, big dry coffee. The flavour is moderate sweet with a dry malt, dry bitter coffee, sweet lactose palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

(Cask at Cock Tavern, Hackney, London, 26 May 2018) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black coffee, chocolate and black rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, black rye bread and a balanced coffee bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well made with a fresh coffee character. Nice one.

Tap@Peders, Copenhagen - Dark brown pour with beige head. Dark roasted malty with prominent coffee roast, some cocoa and burnt brown sugar, medium body, dark roasted malty close.
