Dark copper body with a fizzy, fast disappearing head. A soft nose of sweet malt and banana. The taste profile is led by the chewy, sweet malt, followed by a soft Belgian yeast, subtle fruitiness, nutmeg and other spices. A bit dense and sticky for a Belgian ale.

500ml bottle from the lcbo. Clear Copper pour, with a medium white head. Very sweet, bready malts, candi sugar, and caramels. Subtle fruit, and some light minerals. Heavy mouth feel, medium carb. Finish is sweet, and malty, no hopping, some yeast, and light bitterness.

Little disappointed from a Belgian beer perspective. A little too bland malty to be right. But you are getting some nice yeast notes, that does hit the mark.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of light dry caramel malt with some fruity ester. Taste is a mix of residuals sugar with light caramelized malt and some fruity ester. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but doesn’t really stand out.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear dark copper under a fluffy off white head that recedes gradually,Nose is yeast, dark fruit and spice. Light+ caramel sweetness with candied fruit making a sweeter middle. Light pepper is not enough to take the edge off the sweetness. Mouth is medium and sticky with soft carbonation. 7/3+/6-/3/12

Bottled on 09/05/16, so keeping the French side of the Belgians, with the date (day/month/year). Pours a hazed amber colour with a light beige frothy head, good stay with some foamy lace. Fruity caramel malts in the nose with some sweetness from the Belgian yeast and stronger hops than usual for this style. The malt is watered down in the taste, even the yeast with again the hops being a little too strong. Notes of mild dark sugars and fruitiness. Missing the bar a little here.
