Bomber from the lcbo.
Dark mahogany pour, small beige head. Caramel, biscuity malts, with light floral fruit, and touches of buttery diacetly. Flavor has some solid grains, and malts, a light bitterness that sneaks up on you in the end. There are resemblants of a decent bock, and some doppelbock notes, but they are depp in there. Finish is creamy, buttery, with more caramel, and biscuity malts.

650ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a very deep brown with a small tan head that leaves a fair bit of lace. Nose is dark fruit, toffee and some maple and coffee. Very sweet start with some raisin, chocolate and maple leading to some coffee bitterness. Medium slick mouth with quite soft carbonation. Not a typical bock.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color bock with a nice off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt with some caramel malt is enjoyable enough. Taste is dominated by some caramel malt with light touch of biscuit malt and limited complexity from the esters which I was expecting more of. Body is about average with good carbonation. Good drinkability enough but falls short in terms of complexity.

Bomber from the LCBO. Pours a brown colour with mahogany highlights. The head is beige, creamy, with good retention but not much lacing. Beautiful roasted malt nose with some light sweetness from the maple syrup. Nutty notes as well and coffee. Lots of this reflects in the taste, but harder to detect the maple, and alcohol is felt. The roasted malts are well-blended with some fruitiness. Pretty interesting brew, but would be hard to drink more than one of these (sweetness not helping).

A clear mahoganny brown bock with a thin compact brown head. In aroma, a sweet vanilla caramel malt with fruity esters, light chocolate, not bad. In mouth, a smooth burned caramel with light vanilla, chocolate milk, nice. On tap at Arrow and Loon, April 15 2012.
