Hazy copper pour, small lightly beige head. A nice caramel malt aroma, quite malt forward, reminds me alot of a nice german bock, with some ample spicing. Im getting notes of ginger, citrus peel, cardamon, and turkish delight. Flavor is again quite malt forward and the spices die off leaving a pleasant bready malt. Finish is very lightly bitter, with a subtle herbacious, and medicinal note. Some light grasses, and herbs linger......an interesting take on a bock. I would honestly like to try the base bock without the spices.

Hmmm, a minty beer just the thing for a drinking lunch. My your breath is minty says my boss. Well, not really. The goat, as I will call this beer, pours a hazy whiskey red-brown, with a beige head. Nose of this is dominated by hits of mint, with a little orange lurking in the back. The taste some malty cereal, but then the mint. Not overpowering, but omnipresence, and rolls right into the aftertaste. I like it. The juniper gets lost somewhere in the mix, as does much of the orange, but overall good beer. I always appreciate, though not always love, Beau’s unique beers. Thanks.

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clear deep copper with a big off white head that fades slowly. Nose is malts, spice and some banana. Starts sweet malt and toffee flavour with a backend dominated and dried by peppermint. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation. Nice sipping beer.

Ok but not super interesting, as always with Beau’s. Has some roast malt and a pretty good grain profile. Can’t pick out the spice but it may be ginger or something. Finishes with light sweetness. Ok package. Pours amber with decent head and lacing. Average carbonation. Tap at Winterbrewed.

Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of spices is not overly dominant but still quite interesting with peppermint not easily discernable but juniper and orange peel easier to detect. Taste is an easy drinking mix of juniper bay, orange peel with light spicy rye malt notes. Body is about average with good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Enjoyable drink with just enough complexity; this one probably falls in the hit category for Beau’s.

Single at the LCBO. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a frothy warm cap, good retention and creamy thick lacing. Spicy nose with lots of bread malt notes. Eventually, fruits come out, like oranges with some light alcohol in the background. Rye bread taste with a mild sweetness and a little yeast in the finish. The spices are not as strong in the flavours and that is too bad. Still, an overall easy-drinking bock. Note: the peppermint seems controlled to previous version of this brew. I do not feel it.

An orange amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, intense spruce needles, mint, aromatic, alcohol warmth. In mouth, a nice sweet malt with nice spruce tips, mint, juniper berries, nice and smooth. Bottle at the Wellington Gastropub, Jan 7 2012, 14$.
