Bottle: Poured a clear deep amber color alt with a medium size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of caramelized sugar and oak is stronger than I was expecting. Taste is also a mix of caramelized sugar with some oak notes which brings out a dry edge to this beer. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. I am not sure the dry caramel malt notes, cereal notes and the oak notes were very well balanced together.

Aroma: Very malted nose, sugar cane, candy, burnt caramel, barley sugar. Good strength but fading rapidly. Appearance: Dark copper, clear, average thickness creamy head, long lasting. Not a lot of lacing. Taste: Attack is very malty, with notes of burnt caramel, Candi sugar with a hoppy and dry finish including notes of greenies and pepper. Perfect balance between malt and hop. Mouth feel shows a medium body and a thin delicate texture. Good flavor palette. very close to a barley wine except for body and bitterness. Pleasantly surprised. A delicious beer that will please both malt and hop fans.

Bottle as a gift. Pours a nice dark copper with generous beige head with good lace. Roasted malt nose with slight citrus. Very balanced sweetness and bitterness. Creamy palate with nice carbonation.

Nice ! Another Wild Oats (revisited) single bottle at the LCBO. Pours a rich deep amber colour with a frothy-foamy, yellow-beige head, with great retention and bubbly lace. Mild fruity malt aromas with a little toastiness and hints of other dark fruits. The hop comes out in the taste, very well-balancing things with the malt (fruitiness) and the nice bitterness. Real glad they re-released this one, as it is quite good, goes down real nicely and has great character that do not offend.

A dark reddish brown ale with a thin off white head. A very pleasant vinous aroma with light cinnamon notes, very fragrant. In mouth, a nice treacle malt with nutty notes, veering into Belgian territory, with nice fruity esters, light alcohol warmth, medium bodied, but still rich and interesting. A plus for Beau’s on this one! On tap at Wellington Gastropub, 6.00$
