Keg at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, London. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Smokey, malty, caramel aroma. Tastes pretty interesting this one, smokey, malty, caramel, bacon and a hint of chocolate. A lot going on in this one. I rather like it.

Keg at Craft Islington, 10/12/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent khaki covering. Nose is smoked malt, peated notes, toffee, spent grain, light charr. Taste comprises toffee fudge, the smoke is less intense, light peat, smoked gammon, sweet vibes, roasted chestnut, touch of coffee and cocoa powder. Medium + body, fine carbonation, light warming alcohol in the close. Solid smoked number but perhaps not enough depth to justify the ABV and subsequential cost!

Craft Islington. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, good cream - tan colour head. Palate is soft but has some viscosity. Good fine carbonation. Rich soft dark malts, some cream. Mild and well integrated smoke. Very mild dark fruits. Finishes soft with a little more malt cream and a touch of dark chocolate. So easy to drink. Lovely smoked beer.

20/XI/14 - tap @ CBC Covent Garden (London) - BB: n/a (2014-1358)

Note: holy sh*t on a stick! Over £7 for half a pint! They should put price tags on the tap handles, seriously!
Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy beige smooth head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of chocolate, caramel, pretty sweet impression, soft peated smokiness. MF: ok carbon, full body, smooth creamy texture. Taste: bit sourish, caramel, sugary, pretty smoky, roasted, dried fruits, bitter hops. Aftertaste: peated smoke, bit sugary, dry hops, mocha, coffee, bit of caramel, alcohol, more peat, sugary finish. Very smooth and drinkable. But holy moly, most expensive brew I've ever had in London!
