(Cask at Black Door, 20190510) The beer poured nearly black. Its head was medium sized and nearly white. Aroma had burnt malts, spiciness and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, ginger, sweetness, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy and bitter. A bit weird but still tasty brew.

On tap at Made Inn Ashford. Black beer lasting tan head. Ginger aroma. Juicy stout. Bit cold. Ginger throughout. A bit too juicy and too cold for me. Not unpleasant but could be better on cask.

Cask @ Ring, Southwark, London. Very dark red with a thin bubbly head. It’s a winter warmer with a light spice, but enough to dominate over some toffee notes also in here. A few roasted malts come through too and are better in its nose than taste.
