Reaching our 100th full-scale brew felt like cause for celebration, and having never before made a strong stout, this seemed like the perfect time. Packed with rich, dark malts, creamy oats, and a little treacle and local honey, Midnight Kew is a dark boozy delight that's full of liquorice, treacle toffee and chocolate flavours.

Cask at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours near black with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is earthy, rich roasted malt, coffee grounds, cocoa, wood, dull smoke and some booze. The taste is dry, charred wood, umami, peppery spice, toasty, tar, chewy malt, cocoa, warming alcohol and burnt cake. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. Decent aspects to it for sure, but it comes across a bit charred and chewy.
