11th February 2014Brewdog Shoreditch. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and light. Fine carbonation. Smooth and mild dark malt. A little dark chocolate, mild caramel and coffee. Big skunky pine hops. Malt cream and fruity hop sweetness before a smooth finish. Minty pine hop aftertaste. Good comples Black IPA.

On tap at BrewDog Camden, London on 8th February 2014. Impenetrably black with diminishing pale brown head and lacing. Coffee and roastiness in aroma. Coffee, delicate citrus hop and roast malts in-mouth lasting through the finish. Zingy mouthfeel and medium body.

Keg at BD Camden, 13/12/13 - evidently before Fergus’s shower arrived ! Black with a moderate tan covering that thins to a pond. Nose is light roast, hint of pine, bitter grapefruit, skunky hops, orange peel. Taste comprises light roast, earthy cocoa, jammy dark berry fruit, pine bite, tropicals, green pepper, dank hop presence. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry closure with grsasy hop bitterness. Respectable enough CDA, can’t say I was able to pick out coffee though!

Keg at BD Camden. It pours black with a thick, creamy tan head. The nose is juicy pine, earth, roasty, toast, coffe grinds and some faint grassy/herbal accent comes through on the tail end. The taste is bitter, pine, toast, espresso coffee, resinous, earthy grinds, mild acidity, grapefruit rind, dark chocolate and touch of pepper with a dry, bitter finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Bold, brash and damn bitter. Pretty tasty and enjoyable stuff.

Keg at Brewdog Edinburgh. Pours jet black, long-lasting light tan head. Big hop aromas, "Brewdog signature aromas" according to jeevan. Resinous and grapefruit I thought. Coffee comes through on the taste, with more hops. Creamy texture and long bitter finish. Very enjoyable.
