A sweet and spicy 6% stout. The thing is, it’s dark man. Like, really dark. If you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll bloody love Voodoo. A rich, double chocolate, chilli stout brewed using UK hops, this beer is medium sweet and slightly bitter. Few brews in the world can claim cocoa powder, cocoa nibs, green chilli, English hops, chocolate malt, roasted malt and lactose milk as ingredients. But Voodoo can. It’s strong too. One too many and you’ll feel a pain in your side. A strange, intoxicating and truly exceptional concoction. Just what the Witch Doctor ordered.

Cask gravity at the Pig's ear beer festival 05/12/2017. A mahogany brown coloured pour with reddy hues and a loose tan head. Aroma is spicy grassy hop, nettles, cinnamon and veg pepper. Flavour is composed of semi sweet spicy green pepper, milky roast, little paint solvent. Palate is semi sweet, grainy, alcohol bite in the finish. Bit weird.

Cask at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours cloudy brown - black with a medium white head. The aroma is slick, sweet, vanish, paint, cocoa, liquorice, oily, spicy meat and umami notes. The taste is slick, tangy, earthy, wood, umami, charred notes, tar, harsh, raw, burnt stuff and slick chilli spice through the finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. I find it fairly harsh to be honest. So-so.

500ml bottle from Mitchells Wines, Meadowhead - Flat cola like coloured body, short lasting head. Nose has a chocolate base, some hazelnuts, spicy earthiness and chili undertones. Taste is a pleasant warming chili at the end, with the toasty roast grain bitterness wiped by some nice dark chocolate hints.
