Hapū lingers like an embrace, unspoken yet fully understood. In its haze, stories gather. Nelson Sauvin drifts like wild white wine on ocean air, while Rakau ripens into soft stone fruit and Riwaka sparks bright citrus like sunlight through leaves. Each note leans into the next, a quiet chorus of place and belonging. The mouthfeel is tender, almost weightless, carrying a gentle bitterness that lingers like memory. Brewed in the spirit of the Māori word for clan, this Ipa is an offering of connection, of shared breath, of moments held together just long enough to feel like home.

Pale gold and hazy with a foamy, white head of modest duration. Flora aroma with fruit candy and pineapples. Taste is bitter the whole way through. Very dry finish, slightly chalky, too chalky to really feel refreshing. Lingering dankness. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation. Ok.

Can from the BB advent calendar, Fin beat me to it, I've only drunk it on day 9. Consumed while preparing a pizza with steak. Pale yellow amber haze with moderate head, pomelo pineapple and pine forest nose. The flavor is excellent: dank herbal hints, lemons, dry white wine, fresh smooth bitterness and a nice caramel/malt backbone balancing that. Good complexity as well. Love these moderate ABV IPAs!

Can from Beyondbeer Beergeek Edition Advent Calendar Day 6 *actually had this on Day 6 :-) Tuesday 6th December 2022 listening to Charlie Winston, we had Spaghetti Bolognese tonight. Ok so the no drinking Mon-Wed lasted just Monday this week :-). Pours hazy yolky yellow with a white head. Soft carbonation, very juicy but the three New Zealand hops are doing a sterling job, ensuring this is not just another run of the mill NEIPA. A little citrussy edge, but sweeteness with it, some lemon, a little cheesecake. Nice.
