Bourbon barrel-aged imperial milk stout – 13.5% ABV

A rare variation to the eighth beer in our 12 Days of Christmas series. This imperial milk stout was laid to rest in bourbon barrels for over a year, and emerges this holiday season with deeper, richer, darker, more velvety milk chocolate notes, along with amplified roastiness and ripples of caramel, coconut, and vanilla character.

2nd December 2024 Near opaque dark brown beer, good but fairly short lived tan head. Smooth start to the palate, good fine minerally carbonation coming through on the back end. A mellow but very pleasing chocolate malt, kinda 40% dark chocolate and 60% milk chocolate. Touch of barrel induced vanilla. Caramel and toffee underneath. Big juicy bourbon, big ripe fruits soaked through with bourbon and a strong bourbon coconut on the end. No heat even on the fairly light finish. Just a mild warming afterglow. Wow! This one aged well! Super duper bourbon centric treat.
