Bottle from the brewery. Cloudy dark brown pour, with a tiny off white head. Aroma is a blast of sugar, cola, intense dark fruit, yeast, and brown sugar. mouth feel is very soft, carb is minimal and low. Finish is quite sweet, rum barrel really comes through, lightly burnt brown sugar big dark, boozy fruit. Not bad, but a bit of a barrel bomb.

750ml bottle that pours a clean, brown colour with golden highlights. The head is warm, light-beige coloured with decent retention and some foamy-wet lacing streaks. Complex aromas, all well-blended with caramel, dark fruits, alcohol, apples and woodiness. The taste is quite rich at first, but calms down quickly and lingers nicely, away lightly. Warming, continuing flavours of apples, dark fruits and mild caramel malts. Getting a little hazy at it get to the bottom of the bottle. Rum, raisins become alive as this comes through. A nicely brewed Quad with a touch more hops, and less sugars (still lots of sweetness) than a Belgium one - which is welcomed.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a medium size brown foamy head with light retention and minimal alcing. Aroma of caramelized malt with light dry figs notes and some rum barrel notes are also clearly identifiable. Taste is a nice mix of caramelized malt notes with some dry figs, some residual sugar notes with some rum barrel notes rounding off any rough edges. Body is pretty full with good carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Solid barrel-aged quad with great notes of rum.
