Cask pour from somewhere or other. Hopped ale with the brew having flavoursome citrus notes.

Cask at the Pint Shop, Cambridge. Dark yellow with a slight haze. Relatively flat. Mango, pineapple and a bit of sweat in the aroma. Bittersweet and reasonably unbalanced taste. The finish is too bitter for what came before, but it still has a nice ’bite’. I expected a lot more from this but it is too messy, and the bits that weren’t messy were fairly anonymous. Shame.

Cask gravity at the St Albans BEER festival 2016. A clear golden light orange coloured pour with a a lasting loose white head. Aroma is sweet Base malts, juicy fruit citrus, orange rind, faint tropical notes, mango and sticky orange. Flavour is composed of sticky sweet tangy citrus, resinous hop, orange oil, mango and pear. Palate is medium full, sticky hop resin, good cask condition. Assertive spicy citrus hop bitterness. Like it.

Cask at Craft Clerko. It pours clear golden with a decent white cap. The aroma is fresh, pungent hops, oily, grapefruit, piss and floral. The taste is crisp, clean, good hit of bitterness, grapefruit, peach, apricot, lemon sherbet, leaf, floral, some alcohol, oily and light spice with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Fresh, bitter and crazy drinkable. A classic Oakham beer.

Cask handpull at Craft Clerkenwell. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Not that I want to prejudge this beer but its Oakham served in my favourite pub in London and a 6% ipa called Blue Sky and i love the ELO song. So 1 yes i am predisposed to like this beer but 2 it has a hell of a billing to live up to. And it’s awesome. And i have a pint of it. And it’s cask so the mouthfeel is killer. Who says 6% ipas taste better on keg? I mean this is just so much better for being cask. Grapefruit tangerine flavours. Hoppy sherbet as hell. Bitter sherbet finish. Its amazing. I love it. So this puts it into the Jaipur range. As good? Well it’s hoppier. Could i drink 6.5 pints of it? Don’t know but would enjoy finding out. They haven’t skimped on the hops. Perhaps too harsh to be Sessionable ipa like Jaipur but funking brilliant
