Defined on the label as Hackney Lager Kölsch Style:
This Kölsch style beer is our solution to hot summer days in the brewery, when we have an appetite for a light refreshing lager! With more character than larger produced lagers, it originates from Cologne, is top fermented and lagered for three weeks. We have added a touch of Columbus hops that add a slight earthy citrus to the spicy Saaz variety. The result is a clean, light, crisp lager!

Can, 4.7% as Hackney Lager Köln Style. Sourish aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Small frothy white heat. The flavour malty and sourish. Has a hint of old rag. Seems pleasant enough, but must be infected.

Keg at the London Brewers Market April 2016. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds biscuity pale malts, light cereal, herbal hops. Light-medium sweet flavour with straight cereal, more biscuits, slightly bitter hay, pale grains, faint grass. Light in body with average carbonation. Nicely balanced to finish, with more simple biscuits, pale bread, light citrus rind, faint minerals, hay. A pretty OK lager overall.
