Bottle at Golcar United Football Club - Jet black with an effervescent off white top. Rich toasted notes, some pine and citrus hints, bit of a herbal chocolate undertone, with a nice tart fruity hop finish.

Level 42 bottleshare. Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Soft dark malts, some roast bitterness. Touches of caramel and dark chocolate. Tangy dark fruits. Modest smooth pine. Mild bitter linger. Nice enough beer but more hops required.

Bottle thanks to Kenny at level 42. It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is roasted malts, piney varnish, rich chocolate cake, toffee and some berry fruits. The taste is smooth, roasted malt, cocoa nibs, berry, fruit compote, peppery spice, light ash and charred wood with a dry, charred finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Decent cda.

Leeds Beer Festival 2016. Black coloureds ale. Has a light roasted malt aroma and taste, with a floralness that is dominant in its character.
