Canned on 11-15-19. Pitch black color. Aroma is soft maple, slight coffee. Flavor shows me lasting chocolate with a subtle lasting maple after the sip. It never gets syrupy or overly sweet. Maybe a touch of bitter coffee.

Thanks to Nikki for this one on our annual Easter Vermont weekend. Looks like cola with a head that does not stay, but a tad lace coats the brew. Roasted malt aromas with hints of chocolate malts and alcohol bite. Seems to be quite yeasty as well and when tasted, the yeast seems to be even more powerful in the mix. The maple lingers a little on the tongue in the finish with hop sharpness. The chocolate is lost a bit in here. Gets the job done of an Imperial beer, but the porter is a little lost in here with the chocolate and maple.

Tap. Pours clear to hazy mahogany, small tan head, dissipates with decent lacing. Aroma is light, chocolate, hints of anise and molasses, burnt malt and a touch of rubber. Flavor is light sweet and light bitter, hints of maple here, along with cocoa and burnt malts; coffee. Medium body, touch of acidity from the roast..

Bottle shared in Canaan, NH. Massive gusher. Pours brown with a fizzy tan head that fades out quickly. The nose has some tangy dark malts, cocoa. Medium sweet flavor, syrupy, with oily chocolate, earth. Light bodied, lightly carbonated, but gets flat quickly. Mouth-coating oily texture to finish, some chocolate, earth, leaves. A bit rough. Very poor appearance and texture.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a good one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. No lacing showed up at all.
The smell had a nice sweet blend of maple to dark chocolate to milk chocolate. A light roasty coffee helps to balance decently.
The taste was sweet to roasty balanced between the chocolate, the maple and the coffee. Lingering roasty aftertaste leads to a dry roasty finish.
On the palate, this one sat just like an American Porter should - about a light to medium giving off a decent sessionability to it. Carbonation seems good, but may seem a bit more subtle due to the aging.
Overall, English Porter, well everything fits. And with the maple and the chocolate, I say yes. I’m looking forward to trying it fresh this coming Autumn.
