Galaxy hops, exclusively grown in Australia are revered for their clean bright aromas, and lend notes of passion fruit, citrus and peach. The Comet hops packs a wildly bitter punch with a blend of grapefruit, lemon and orange flavors.

Slight haze. This has a heavier caramel and a fair amount of stone fruity hop on the nose, and that character shows through on the palate as well. It’s a decent IPA, but the heavy California-style chewiness isn’t really optimal in my books.

500mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is very fresh and piney, with loads of piney hops, followed by some hop resins, and backed with crisp biscuity malt. Piney and somewhat boozy but in a pleasant way. Finishes with a pleasant bitter finish. Very good stuff.

Bomber from Inside the Cellar beer club. Aroma is cat piss, grapefruit, lemon, floral, melon. Pours slightly hazy golden with an off-white head with great retention and lace. Taste is highly highly bitter (10/10) with lots of citrus rind, pithy flavors; a bit savory. Virtually no malt sweetness or flavors. Great old school DIPA.

Bottle from Jane’s. Normal enough pour, clear golden, small foamy head fades to skin. Piney, hoppy aroma, slightly musty. Taste brings a bit of sharpness and urgency to the hops, sharp and tingling on the tongue. Not much to the malts, the focus is squarely on the hops. And for this combo it works, very well. Just on the border of an IIPA...slightly

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma of cooked malt, citrus, and interesting pale fruits. Med + body. Flavor is citrus, lots of tropical fruits, and some light caramel for support. It’s enough. The thing is bitter and fairly fruity/citrus. Nice.

Hazy gold beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry, good fine crispness. Light malts bring a modest sweetness, touch of thin malt cream. Typical Galaxy hops - fruits salad covered in a fair dose of bitterness. The back end brings mild juicy orange and marmalade and trace of lemon. The bitterness calms down a little as the beer warms up, still a fairly bitter beer though. Interesting and drinkable.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours an almost clear golden - tiny impurities - with a lacing white head. Interesting aroma, not super openly citrusy and frwsh, somehow more closed off and dank. Medium-bodied - doesn’t really feel like 8% - very dry and bitter in a somewhat raw, rough and unrefined way. Not super pleasant. 050716

Some citrus and lots of pine. Some cabdied apple. Clear golden amber pour with good head and lacing. Very bitter finish - nice to have an IPA with balls after all these clean finish eastern IPAs. Creamy consistency. Tap at Sovereign Savor event.

Samples from the tap at Chuck’s Hopshop. Pours a near clear yellow gold and a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a lot of citrus with some sweet grains and a bit of resin underlying. Flavor has more resinous pine that combines with bitter citrus and light grains backing.
