Draft - Dirty and earthy acidity. Clear brown and a decent white head. Crazy up front acidity and a weird fruit plum note.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg.Hazy amber - brown beer patchy cream colour head. Palate is light, pretty dry and has decent fine carbonation. Sourish fruits, some blackberry but as much generic fruits. Quite a dry finish brings a pinch of sherbet. Not really doing much for me but it’s inoffensive.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s - London. Pours cloudy brown with reddish highlights and a slender, creamy topping. Odd aroma, some ripening fruits, dry cocoa. Light sweet flavour, really dry, a little meaty, with notes of old leather, earth, aged berries, a little toffee. Lightly acidic. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Dry finish, with more meaty dark fruits, earth, lemon, toasted wholegrain bread. Novel, but in the end just a bit too scattered.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s. It pours darkest purple with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, earthy, tangy, medicinal, Dandelion & Burdock, sweet berry and blackcurrant cordial. The taste is crisp, tart, tangy, sour candy, sherbet, blackberry, fruit yoghurt, sour green apple, pear skin and damp leaves with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Rather interesting stuff.

Keg at CBC Clerko, 07/07/16. Rich chestnut brown with a decent khaki top. Nose is earthy fruit rinds, grain, red berry skins, wood must, damp hay. Taste develops more, tangy red berrym blackberry sour, funk, damp cloth, wood must, light spice, faint cocoa/coffee notes, light varnish. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, tarte fruit was in a moderately sour finale. Decent enough.

Aroma of good roasted barley and hints of leather and coffee, and some plum. Has a great big head and ruby black body with no carbonation. Flavour is an interesting mix of red wine vinegar and roasted barley. Coffee notes. Surprisingly balanced and each flavour stands alone. Good mouthfeel and crisp finish. This is a rather successful experiment. Unique and probably an acquired taste for most but I think it’s great.
