MANDARIN is our fruity winter favourite. Every year we get fresh Bavaria Mandarina hops from the Hallertau region of Germany. It’s these wonderful hops and the distinctive refreshing flavour of mandarin oranges that gives MANDARIN it’s citrus aroma.

cask at parcel yard kings cross. It’s a fruity bitter decent orange fruit touch of rubber. Ok except for the rubber

Cask at the pig’s ear fest 2013. Light amber orange pour with a loose white head that persisted. Aroma is nutty chestnut malt, mineral, light touch on the autumnal spices. Flavour follows with nutty mineral light cinnamon but nicely balanced. Tasty.

Cask at Pig’s Ear beer festival 2013, Hackney, London. A golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Orange, malty aroma. Tastes of orange/mandarin, some caramel, slight sweetness, rich. Nice Christmas beer from the chaps in Windsor.

Cask gravity at Pigs Ear 2013. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The nose is earth, Xmas, spice, hay, orange and sweet mandarin. The taste is crisp, orange, tangerine, hay, spice, light toast and pleasant bitterness with a dry, citric finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very nice. Crisp, fruity and very drinkable.

Cask in the Dean Swift. Clear gold beer, residual white head. Palate is light with modest fine carbonation. Light mild hops - a little orange and grapefruit. Nice blend of medium sweet mandarin that gets a little sweeter at the semi dry finish. Pretty drinkable. No idea at the time of drinking that the Mandarin was delivered by this new hop. Thought I was drinking a Christmas Fruit Beer! Intriguing! Well done W&E for getting this hop imported - just wish it could have been a single hope beer.

Straight from the cask in the tasting room at W&E brewery - 22/12/12. Pours a clear golden with a thin white head that clears to a film and leaves a frothy edge. Nose is citrus, hops, grass, a little caramel malts. Taste comprises fresh hops, orange, grass, citrus. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, smooth on the palate, bitterness in the finish. Great fresh tasting, clean and easily drinkable beer. W&E deliver once again!

Cask at the Old Red Cow, London. Pours clear gold with a firm, creamy head. Bits of fresh orange in the nose, some straw, pale malts. Medium sweet flavor with juicy mandarin orange (it’s true), citrusy bitterness, light straw, pale malts, faint grass. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Medium sweet finish, lightly sticky with lots more orangey cutrus character. Quite a tasty little beverage.
