[Cask at the Goldengrove (JDW), Stratford.] A deepest chestnut coloured pour with a tight cream head; piney aroma with a hint of chocolate; rather thin in the mouth with some toasted grains and chocolate malt then a dry lactic finish with a touch of licorice.

Cask at Victoria Spoons. It pours dark ruby - brown with a small beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, dark fruits, touch of citrus peel, roasted malt, coffee and cocoa. The taste is bitter, charred wood, earthy roast, ash, cola, dr pepper, dark fruits and tar with a dry, ashy finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A bit charred and ashy. A fairly basic black ipa.

Pig’s Ear Fest. Cask. Clear deep red - amber beer, bubbly pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Mild and tangy dark malts, trace of dark chocolate. Little toffee. Tangy citrus. Doesn’t satisfy as a CDA, okay beer.

Half pint from cask at Grape and Grain, Crystal Palace. Shared with Finn. Filmy layer remaining over a deep dark brown body. Aroma of earth and bready malts. Smooth flavours from the black malts with moments of cocoa and chocolate. Mid-sweet malty ending with a light roasted touch. Fine bodied. Some drinking pleasure in this one (Greater London 28.11.2015).

Fra cask på Grape & Grain Crystal Palace 28 Nov 15. Delt med Rune. Svart. Tynt filmskum med litt lacing. Veldig beskjeden aroma av røstet malt. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken som en lett barley wine. Svakt syrlig frukt med en tørr avslutning.

Cask at the Burlington - Mayfair, London. Pours deep brown with a dense, creamy khaki head; looks great. Moderate toasted malts in the aroma, some milk chocolate, a little earth, toasted pine. Medium sweet flavor with mild earthy bitterness, mild bittersweet cocoa, slight pine and ripening orange. Light bodied with average carbonation and velvety texture. Pretty nicely balanced to close, with further milk chocolate, soft piney bitterness, earth, mellow citrus fruits. A very drinkable entry-level CDA.
