Cask at Pigs Ear 2014 - London. Pours clear gold with a bubbly white head. The nose holds some ripening citrus fruits, minerals. Medium sweet flavor with notes of pale bread, drying minerals, citrus peel, pine needles. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nicely balanced to finish with further citrus character, pale bready sweetness, some gooey sugars. Very drinkable.

Cask at Pig’s Ear 2014. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet orange, oily, mandarin, earth and candied citrus peel. The taste is bitter-sweet, toasty, pine needles, orange zest, mandarin, resinous, pithy, panettone, wood and earth. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Bitter and zesty. Surprisingly enjoyable and not overdone.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’14, day 1, 02/12/14. Clear golden with a decent light beige covering. Nose is sweet malt, spice, orange rinds, caramel, winter cheer. Taste comprises light smoke, candied orange peel, spice, subtle Grand Marnier licks. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Decent winter offering, does as it says on the tin, not a Golden Blonde by any stretch of the imagination. English strong (5% ok?) or ESB perhaps?

2nd December 2014
Pigs Ear. Cask. Lightly hazy rich gold beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles not being a head. Palate is smooth and light with modest fine carbonation. Light sweetish orange, crystallised fruit orange, touch of orange candy. Light finish with orange liquer in the aftertaste. There are mandarin and tangerine tones in there but this an orange fest. Unusual and quite drinkable.
