500ml bottle. Opalescent, redd-ish brown colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Vinous fruity and slightly woody aroma, notes of blue grapes, blue grape juice, hints of red wine, Sherry, Port, blue berries, some oak, caramel malty background, whiffs of leather and morello. Taste is sweet-and-sour caramel malty and vinous fruity, slightly woody, minimally lactic and tangy, notes of blue grapes, red wine, some oak, leather, morello, black pepper. Minimally oily, acid thinned, watery texture, minimally astringent palate, medium, scattered, prickly carbonation. Meets the style adequately, but lacks some more depth and complexity for perfection - enjoyable.

(Tap sample @ Indie Alehouse, Toronto, Jan 18/18) Pours clear deep red-brown with a tiny cream head. Notes are dominated by red wine and oak, only lightly tart, quite fruity with the notes of grapes and cherries, but also very leathery, dusty basement, tannin, light toast, just a hint of acetic acid bite, a bit more lactic. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Nicely made, not really sour at all for a sour red but the must lends complexity.

Reddish-brown. On the nose, lots of wood, light balsamic, On the palate, it's got a nice soft, woody tartness. Rounded character. Light berry fruits. Really nice complexity. A fair bit of tartness in the finish, acetic and burning going down. But in terms of flavour, this is really high quality example of the style, seldom achieved at this level in North America.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Nose brings out complex red wine barrels, balsamic notes, and light wood. Flavour is quite complex, with lots of balsamic, red wine barrels, light Worcestershire, and tart red fruits. Complex, vinous, tart and tannic. This is wonderfully done.

750ml bottle (thx, Peter K.!) at Matt's. Pours an opaque dark copper with a beige head. Aroma is barrel, cherries, some caramel notes. Taste is similar, a bit more acidic than I would prefer. Fairly good, though.

Bottle: Poured a dirty reddish color ale with a light foamy head with minimal retention. Aroma of vinous notes with oak and cherry notes is quite splendid. Taste is a nice mix of tart cherry notes oak and vinous notes with light residuals sugar notes. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Very well balanced Flanders red with good mix of complexities while retaining excellent drinkability.
