Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home. Black beer with a thickish tan head. Chocolate and tar on the aroma. Very choccy in the mouth. Some good smoothness. Hides the ABV very well. Rather good. Very drinkable. A little heat on the finish. But rather good. Some hop on the finish. Smooth, juicy and just very drinkable.

Cask at Craft 100. It pours hazy dark brown with a thick beige head. The nose is mild chocolate, earthy cocoa, toast, coconut and vanilla. The taste is rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, earth, warming alcohol, toast, lactose, good deal of bitterness, raisin, date, prune and cherry skin with a warming finish. Full body and fine+ carbonation. Very tasty but also pretty hefty stuff!

Cask - yup you heard, cask at Craft 100, CBC Clapham, 03/04/14. Light black with a big billowing light tan head - this one looks the proverbial bollocks! Nose is woody, dark fruit rub, ripened stoned fruit, dark toffee fudge, light roast, suggestion of booze but not 11% worth! Taste comprises cocoa nibs, light booze, spice, toffee fudge, dark fruit peel. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Good stuff, well executed especially to make it this drinkable on cask at 11%, certainly doesn’t drink to its ABV!

Craft100 fest at Craft Clapham. Cask. Almost clear brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light with fine carbonation. Smooth mild dark malts. Semi sweet dark chocolate and fudge. Tangy sweet dark fruits and a whisper of red berry fruits. Light finish with mild warmth and spice. Heard a few peeps say this was hot but I thought it had a mild warmth for it’s abv. Nice one.
