Growler from the brewery. Jet black pour with a mocha head. Piney resin aroma. Some realy great hopping mixed well with some intense toasty malt and some smoke. Lots of pine and spruce in the flavor, and the finish is very very dry with a great strong bitterness, snd ssome great roastiness. Fresh this beer is outstanding!

His Black poured a deep dark amber colour with a creamy, light tan head. Nice lacing. Scents include smoke, light black cherries, dark toast and caramel. First swig was roasty and smokey with slightly sweet malt flavours along with a little licorice and a minuscule taste of burnt plastic? Finish is smokey and smooth with caramel and smoke notes lingering forever.

A deep dark IPA with a thick frothy brown head. In aroma, light bitter chocolate malt with light licorice, grassy hops, OK. In mouth, a nice nutty and bitter chocolate malt with light licorice, coffee, not bad. OttBottShare Oct 2013.
