On tap at the Ottawa Beerfest. It poured a deep cola brown with ruby accents and a beige head. The nose was roasty chocolate. It is smooth wonderful stuff. Not so complex but very well executed.

Sample, draught, during the National Capital Craft Beer Festival, savoured on August 16 2013; eye: black, opaque, nice beige head, nice lacing; nose: nutty, dusty, light roasted malt, light green pepper; mouth: nutty, dusty, light roasted malt, light green pepper, slight hops, finale in green pepper with presence of roasted malt, slightly bitter, lightly sweet, slick texture; overall: correct FRANÇAIS Échantillon, en fût, bue lors du National Capital Craft Beer Festival, savourée le 16 août 2013; œil : noire, opaque, belle mousse beige, belle dentelle; nez : noix, poussière, léger malt torréfié, léger poivron vert; bouche : noix, poussière, léger malt torréfié, léger poivron vert, très léger houblon, finale en poivron vert avec présence d’orge torréfiée, très légèrement amère, légèrement sucrée, texture coulante; en résumé : correct

Tap: Poured a black color porter with a small brown foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt with some green peppers notes also perceptible. Taste is also dominated by roasted malt with light dry black chocolate notes and some green peppers notes. Body is bit thin for style with good carbonation. Not bad but I could do without the green pepper notes.

A dark reddish brown porter with a thick brown head. In aroma, smooth chocolate malt with nice grassy hops, OK. In mouth, a smooth chocolate malt with chalky notes, not bad. On tap at Beyond The Pale Tap Takeover, June 9 2013.
