opalescent reddish amber colour, large, though not too dense and stable yellowish head; aroma of wine cellar, old wood barrel, tannines, raspberry, slight overripe, almost rotten orange and caramel notes; taste is the same with definte lactic acidy and brett notes and alcoholic aftertaste; not really hoppy - at least, I would not say that it has 101 IBU; well, I have no problem with it, though it is more like a strong wild ale than a barley wine...

On tap at Festibière de Gatineau. Aroma is floral. Color is pale amber, hazy, with small head and nice lacing. Taste: We’re in strong notes of alcohol with floral hops and fresh herbs. Very hoppy for a barley wine. Also found bubble gum and barley sugar. Hops are surprisingly sticking out the sugar base. A very tasty beer.

A hazed orange amber barley wine with almost no head. In aroma, a nice orange pulp with caramel, lemon, treacle and alcohol warmth, barrel wood notes. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with doughy character, green hops, menthol, alcohol warmth, raspy mouthfeel, OK. On tap at Hivernale, Feb. 23 2013.

Tap (Hivernale): Poured a bright amber color ale with a small foamy head. Aroma of resinous hops is quite powerful with some citrus undertones also noticeable. Taste is a mix between some resinous notes with tropical fruit notes and peach notes with a sweet caramelized sugar finale. Body is about average with low carbonation. Very enjoyable though I can’t say I was able to pick out the bourbon easily since there was so much hops in this beer.
